About The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out day to day maintenance on the nursing care home adhering to Health & Safety at all times, using your initiative to identify problems and report to the Registered Manager, to ensure that the home is maintained in a safe and functional order.
We are looking for an individual with;
· A proven ability to work on their own initiative or as part of a team;
· On Call required
· Commitment to a service, which provides support to vulnerable individuals, and which is respectful and according to the individual’s wishes;
· Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Including an ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, Managers and other persons with a legitimate interest in the service;
· Ability to work within a regional maintenance team and support other homes within the region if required.
· The ability to carry out tasks correctly and safety;
· An understanding of when to request additional skilled help;
· A flexible and innovative approach to working;
· The ability to manage their time effectively, prioritising the work needed.
· A positive, patient and flexible attitude along with a passion for engaging with working age or older adults with dementia and associated conditions.
Experience of working in a care home environment is desirable.
Own transport is essential.
